Reason #2: The Really Frightening Consequences
During this Halloween season, the legal
Establishment and other defenders of the judicial
swindle will attempt to frighten Pennsylvanians by
claiming a calamity will be visited on the justice
system if a mere 67 judges lose their jobs. Although
we've already debunked that myth, there are some
truly chilling repercussions if Pennsylvanians don't
send these judges packing.
Which Rights Are You Willing to Give Up Next?
By accepting the pay raise, judges across the
Commonwealth are claiming the plain language of the
Constitution is utterly meaningless. Three days does
not mean three days. Original purpose is some
nebulous and theoretical thing. Germane is no longer
germane.
Our right to a deliberative legislative process - as
spelled out in Article III and added to the Constitution
in 1874 specifically to protect us from a
legislature run
amok - is no longer applicable, according to the
Supreme Court.
By voting 'yes' on any judge still accepting the extra
money provided by the unconstitutional pay raise, you
would be giving government tacit permission to violate
other, more important, provisions of the Constitution.
What's next? Your freedom of speech? Your freedom
to worship in the manner that you choose? Your right
to assemble with other citizens? Your right to bear
arms? Your right to a trial by jury?
Where Will You Seek Justice?
Imagine yourself as a parent involved in a child
custody case. Or a seriously injured party in a case of
negligence. Or an individual wrongly accused of a
crime. In any of these examples, what would you
expect of the presiding judge?
You would expect the judge to apply the law fairly and
exercise wisdom in your case.
But can you honestly expect that sort of treatment from
someone who completely discards the plain language
of the highest law of the land in an effort to line his or
her own pockets? Can you expect that sort of
treatment from someone who stood idly by while the
Supreme Court turned the plain meaning of the
Constitution on its head?
Will you ever be able to walk into a Pennsylvania
courtroom again and honestly expect justice to be
served?
Lawlessness and Chaos
History has shown time and time again that
when
governments put themselves into a state of utter
distrust, lawlessness and chaos usually follow. After
all, if elected officials refuse to obey the rules the
sovereign people have laid down for them in the
Constitution, why should the sovereign people bother
paying any attention to the rules elected officials
attempt to lay down through mere statutes?
PACleanSweep advocates heading that sort of unrest
off at the pass. Making the world a better place for
future generations and preserving the rule of law is the
American way. We cannot allow our society to
degenerate into lawlessness and chaos. Our children
deserve a legitimate government.
By using the ultimate check and balance of the ballot
box, Pennsylvanians can prevent a further slide into
tyranny and the rule of men. Over 230 years ago - in
this very Commonwealth - our founding fathers
cast off
the chains of tyranny and established a system of
government based on liberty and the rule of law. It is
our duty to preserve it.
We Get the Government We Deserve
Before they heard a single case on the bench,
every
judge in the Commonwealth swore to support, obey
and defend the Constitution. They did not swear
allegiance to the whims of the seven members of the
Supreme Court. Which part of accepting the pay raise
was in support, obedience or defense of our most
fundamental law?
The General Assembly trampled the Constitution. The
Governor approved the trampling with his signature.
The Supreme Court said it was all fine and dandy with
them, as long as they could collect a few extra bucks.
Wink, wink. Nod, nod.
With a 'yes' vote on retention, you'll give them
permission to further erode our rights. You'll give them
approval to act in an even more egregious manner in
the future. You'll put the integrity of the justice system
in further jeopardy. You'll risk a slide into lawlessness
and chaos.
Or, you can VOTE NO and reverse the troubling course
state government currently seems to be on. You can
fulfill your rightful role as the ultimate check and
balance on government run amok. You can exercise
your inherent power as one of the sovereign people.
You can
preserve the rule of law for future generations.
The choice is yours: Trick - or treat?
